Writer's picture: KyleKyle

Class was in session on Wednesday as Open Campus, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, and ApeCoin Updates officially launched their new “Made By Apes U” online business program and introduced the space to their first cohort of Bored Builders!

Apes stronger together rings true as Open Campus, the BAYC, and ApeCoin Updates (formerly the Governance Working Group) come together to help 12 businesses expand inside the Web3 world and beyond!

“We just kicked off the very first cohort of mbAPE_U - empowering Made by Apes builders from the BAYC community through education,” Open campus tweeted. “These talented individuals are bringing fresh ideas and new energy to our community, fostering creativity and innovation … APE_U launched last year to provide value through community training, resources, AIP support, and Twitter Spaces. Now, APE_U is ready to educate and empower MBAs—helping them thrive both in and beyond Web3.”

The first MbAPE U cohort is filled with familiar faces from around the swamp who have been building real-life products and pushing Ape IP forward for years! Take a look at each person, their business, and their X bios below:

As part of MbAPE U, these 12 businesses will go through a four-week online business education program where Yuga Labs, ApeCoin, and Open Campus will help them develop new revenue streams beyond the Ape ecosystem, find new opportunities, and take part in the MBA Bodega Shopify Collective pilot program, according to Yuga Labs Senior Producer Bad Teeth.

“APE_U has been in development with me and Open Campus for over a year now and operational for the last six months,” ApeCoin Updates and former ApeCoin Goverence Working Group Steward Lead  AllCity told the Gazette.  “It’s actually a huge initiative funded by the ApeCoinGWG that we had been looking to channel in a fresh form after the DAO opted to move away from Working Groups, so seeing what Badteeth was up to with MBAs and learning that the Shopify storefront was on the way — we knew this was it. I view this as a steppingstone toward a much larger play for the MBA program through an AIP which I plan to be a part of. Like an incubator with independent funding mechanisms for different stages of business development.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow MbAPE U and will keep you updated on how the program impacts each of its 12 cohorts over the next month. Stay tuned for more!
