CHECK IT OUT: Yuga Labs' New Otherside GM Is Rocking A Mega Koda PFP. Here's What You Need To Know
A month after Yuga Labs made a lot of noise around the swamp, acquiring Roar Studios and welcoming the immersive media company's founder, Eric Reid, as its new Otherside General Manager, Reid is now using a Mega Koda as his profile photo!
Things were anything but boring this morning as Bored Ape Yacht Club members noticed Reid’s new profile photo on Twitter.
"The general manager of Otherside is sporting a Mega Koda as his pfp,” BAYC member Tenacious tweeted along with a screenshot of Reid’s account. “If that isn’t alpha I don’t know what is. Megas will rule Otherside.”
The Mega Koda that Reid is rocking as his pfp is Koda #9994.
Koda #9994 is a Mega Koda with a Tazor head, light visor eyes, and a kilowatt core. Koda #9994 is also armed with a coils of vengeance weapon.
Further, Reid’s Mega Koda, which currently resides in a Yuga Labs wallet, calls Otherdeed #36432 home.
Otherdeed #36432 is a five tier Chaos environment on cosmic dream sediment with void and entropy resources, according to Opensea data.
At the time of this aritcle’s publication, Reid not made his inaugural tweet as Otherside General Manager but he did previously say that he and his team are looking forward to empowering the community as Otherside becomes a reality!
“Our team's mission is to empower players to create and be social in a community-driven, open media experience, so our work fundamentally aligns with Yuga's larger web3 metaverse strategy,” Reid said in a press release on July 31st. “When Daniel (Alegre) and Mike Seavers opened the door for us to contribute to Yuga's paradigm-shifting approach to content and immersive experiences, we jumped at the opportunity."
In that same press release, Yuga Labs’ CEO, Daniel Alegre, praised Reid and the former Roar Studios team for their talent and said that he’s excited for them to contribute to the metaverse.
"Roar Studios has redefined what it means to experience media content in the metaverse," Alegre said at the time of Yuga Labs’ acquisition of Roar Studios. "Yuga's North Star is creating new ways for communities to connect and express themselves, and I am excited to welcome Roar's talented team to our Yuga family. Roar's dedication to creative content creation and social connections will accelerate our execution of our bold vision for Otherside and Yuga's ecosystem more broadly."
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Reid and Otherside. Stay tuned for updates!
