BORED TO DRIVE: The BAYC x BMW Partnership Continues With Exclusive ApeCar Drawing!
Updated: 3 days ago
ApeFest 2024 might be just the beginning of the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s partnership with luxury automaker BMW, as long as the Apes continue to keep their foot on the gas with this collaboration!
On Friday, the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s weekly "Meet the Clubhouse" Space was anything but boring, as the club’s Executive Producer, Dave, joined IllDaProducer and Baron Von Hustle on stage to talk about the Bored Bimmer Club, the drawing for the Ape Car, and the club’s ongoing partnership with BMW!
“There’s an opportunity for us to do even more cool stuff with our friends at BMW,” Dave said. “This is just the beginning of what we can do. There are so many more cool things that we can do in the future as we partner these two rad brands together.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, ApeFest 2024 had all the “Ultimate Driving Machine” vibes, thanks to its partnership with BMW. From the automaker’s Bored Bimmer Club section at Convento De Beato and the reveal of its BAYC-inspired BMW, designed by BAYC member Rida, to exclusive merch and an augmented reality experience where Apes raced against Curtis in a BAYC-themed Mario Kart-style game, BMW went all out for ApeFest. Plus, the automaker wrapped up the event by launching its soulbound licenses on ApeChain as a digital keepsake, marking one of the first items ever minted on $APE!
Following ApeFest’s success, the club and BMW are now shifting gears to the next phase of their partnership: getting the one-of-a-kind ApeCar, designed by Rida with BMW, into the hands of a lucky Ape!
Currently, community members can make a fully refundable $2,350 pre-order on the BAYC x BMW website for a chance to win the right to purchase the car for $99,999 USD. Whoever buys the car will enjoy a range of customizations, including door lights that reflect their Ape, a custom animation of their Ape on the dashboard, and more.
The ApeCar will also come with a one-of-a-kind NFT from BAYC and BMW, along with an Otherside-modeled twin that will make its metaverse debut later this month during Project Dragon. After its digital debut, the physical ApeCar will make its IRL debut at BMW’s headquarters before the winner eventually picks it up, according to Dave.
During today’s Space, Dave encouraged every BAYC member to put down the refundable $2,350 deposit, emphasizing that it would show BMW how serious the Ape community is about Bored Bimmer businsess! “The more folks we can get to put down a refundable deposit, the better we can demonstrate to BMW just how committed the community is to doing more,” he said.
While Dave couldn't share specifics about future plans between BAYC and BMW, he mentioned both teams are excited about what could come next. “I can’t speak to any specific long-term plans because it’s all very one step at a time when it comes to these things, but we’re all very excited,” Dave said. “I’m thrilled about this car. I’d love to do more cool things like this, and I think the car is going to be very special.”
The window for Apes to place their refundable deposit on the ApeCar and enter the drawing is currently open, with the deadline closing tomorrow night. For more information on the ApeCar or how to enter, check out the BAYC’s website here: https://store.boredapeyachtclub.com/products/ApeCar2024
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Bored Bimmer Club and announce the lucky Ape who wins the chance to purchase the ApeCar next week. Stay tuned for updates!
