Bored Apes will live on Ethereum, but their shadows will stretch onto ApeChain, thanks to Layer Zero’s Read technology, which lets developers access any data, across any chains, at any point in time!

Things are about to get bored in the ApeChain ecosystem after Layer Zero unveiled its new tech that will soon make it possible for Bored Apes on Ethereum to be recognized on ApeChain, giving creators and developers the chance to reward holders and opening up new possibilities across chains!

Following this announcement, Yuga Labs’ VP of Blockchain 0xQuit took to the timeline and explained that "Shadow" NFTs will soon be available on ApeChain for all BAYC members, and these shadows will be soulbound to whichever wallet BAYC members delegate their cold wallets to.

 

Wherever you choose to delegate to, that's where your NFT will live on ApeChain,” he wrote. “The NFTs are soulbound: unapproveable and untransferrable.. The only way to move them is to update your mainnet delegation or move the NFT on mainnet.”

“Shadows will begin with BAYC and MAYC, but you can expect more collections to start seeing their shadows on ApeChain shortly after,” 0xQuti continued. “And because it's trustless, you don't have to wait for us to deploy something. If you want your collection shadowed, you can simply deploy it! The lzRead powered Shadow Contracts are currently pending audit, with an expected launch date of early December.
