A Bathing Ape and the Bored Ape Yacht Club are dropping the 'quintessential beach collection for degens' this month, giving Bored Ape Yacht Club members the chance to ape in first to the 15-piece collection, grab some members-only merch, and crack open a Bored Ape Beer—this weekend!
Bape-ish vibes are back, and they’re more boring than ever as the Bored Ape Yacht Club and A Bathing Ape prepare to launch phase one of their Season 2 merch drop exclusively for BAYC members this Saturday at 10 A.M. EST. The drop features 15 different items, including Bored Ape Beer, several Ape-exclusive pieces, and more!
As Apes get ready to dive into this collaboration, Yuga Labs’ Vice President of Brand Production, Chad Calcago, joined BAYC Community Council Member JBond and Pancake on their Twitter Spaces morning show, BondCake Cooks, where he dropped a lot of alpha!
“When we looked ahead at this year, we asked how do we make the quintessential beach collection for degens and that was kind of the inspiration behind a lot of what we did,” Calcago said. “We also looked into the archives of what BAPE has done and tried to do some stuff that they have only done once before in their storied history, or stuff they have never done before, and how do we find that way of making something that’s interesting and unique with our brand.”
Calcago went on to say that the BAYC x BAPE Season 2 drop will consist of 15 items: a lightweight windbreaker jacket, two Hawaiian shirts (one in blue and one in camo green), two different swim trunks (aka 'Water Shorts'), two BAYC Shark Hoodies (one in blue and one in camo green), a black-on-black golf polo shirt with a hidden BAYC logo, a Curtis and Baby Milo Bored Ape Beach Club Tee, a mash-up logo shirt, SHARK STA Shoes (one in blue and one in green), furry house slippers, a towel, sunglasses, Bored Ape Beer, and a small figurine of BAPE’s Baby Milo as Curtis.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Curtis and Baby Milo Bored Ape Beach Club Tee, the camo shark hoodie, and the camo Hawaiian shirt will be BAYC exclusives!
“There is something really for everyone, Calcago said. From something more minimalist to more full on BAPE maximalist shark hoodie stuff.”
Along with the BAPE x APE apparel, Calcago also announced that the BAYC-exclusive green SHARK STA Shoes and another colorway SHARK STA Shoes will each be numbered to 1,000 and will drop in October as part of phase two of the BAYC x BAPE Season 2 collab.
