BAYC to the drawing bored. On Friday, Yuga Labs CEO Garga announced that the Made By Apes voter delegation at the ApeCoin DAO will be taking a break from voting so he and the team can work on ways to boost turnout and get more builders participating.

ApeCoin’s Made By Apes delegation will not be casting its 6.5 million votes in the next election cycle, as Yuga Labs pauses the program due to low turnout.
“An update here - will be hitting pause on this initiative,” Garg tweeted. “Unfortunately, most votes aren't meeting quorum for the MBA delegation, and reducing quorum isn't an option because it would make it manipulatable. hitting pause on this following next week's vote and exploring other ways to boost turnout + engagement for the future.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Made By Apes voter delegation launched in October 2024, aiming to represent the interests of over 400 MBA-licensed businesses around the swamp. Each wallet with a valid MBA license got the chance to cast one vote, either for, against, or to abstain , on every proposal during each cycle.
Following Garga’s post, community leaders like JRNY Crypto, Frostyz, and others took to the timeline with ideas on how Yuga Labs could reshape the delegation moving forward.
JRNY suggested expanding the delegation’s voter base to include all Yuga Labs NFT holders.
“BAYC/MAYC/KODA/DEED vote pool plz,” JRNY wrote. “Way more voters, gives the NFTs utility and a say in the ecosystem, gets the holders involved in what's going on, gets more holders to learn about the DAO and will increase amount of proposals and builders on ApeChain.”
Frostyz recommended Yuga Labs clean up the Made By Apes licensees by removing “dead” or inactive businesses, which would lower quorum requirements for the delegation.
“Voted every time just missed in once as I took some days off and forgot it. Sad that it didn’t worked out,” he wrote. “MadeByAes licenses should also be cleaned up in my opinion so it have a certain value and not also dozen of dead licenses inside it.
Many Apes cited a lack of communication, general apathy toward the DAO, and issues with the delegation system as the reasons MBA businesses weren’t showing up to make their voices heard.
With the MBA delegation on pause, the two largest active voting blocs going forward will be Yuga Labs’ YugaVote with 6.9 million coins and the Mocaverse’s MocaverseApe with 6.4 million coins. Take a look at the nine largest delegations and their vote counts below:

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the MBA delegation and let you know when Garga and the Yuga Labs team update the community on the future of the voting bloc. Stay tuned for updates!
