NFTs rose from the grave on Sunday after an anonymous crypto whale with millions of dollars’ worth of Ethereum at their disposal purchased a zombie CryptoPunk for a scary amount!
Spooky season came early to the Yugaverse this year when Wallet 0xFbB2e4521F9e2fDc233ffB967B553c9A4F3648a7 bought CryptoPunk #2967 from notable NFT dealer PunksOTC for 420 ETH, or $842,000 USD.
CryptoPunk #2967 is a three-attribute zombie Punk with a chinstrap and a mohawk. Based on these traits, CryptoPunk #2967 is the 66th rarest Punk in the collection, According to Magic Eden.
“Congrats to the buyer,” PunksOTC tweeted after selling this Punk for a 180 Eth or $250,000 USD profit after holding the walking dead NFT for six months. “Anyone got any zombies, apes, or aliens for sale?”
While little is known about the mysterious buyer, Etherscan data shows that they still have 80 ETH or about $160,000 USD left in their wallet, meaning their shopping spree may be far from over.
We also know that Wallet 0xFbB2 received a 500 ETH transfer from Wallet 0x3564bCF6e436A890183D005bca5F0Cc4eBDBC3a0 three days ago, seemingly to fund this spooky purchase.
At the time of this article’s publication, Wallet 0x3564bC holds 1,980.35 ETH or roughly $3,941,000 USD.
