As The ApeCoin DAO Votes On AIP-230, Maria Bajwa Highlighted Some Of EthGlobal's Recent Work

The ApeCoin DAO is currently voting on an Ape Improvement Proposal that aims to make a million-dollar donation to the public good!

AIP-230 titled “I don’t hate apes, I just want them to fund public goods,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written former ApeCoin Special Council member Maaria Bajwa.

“ApeCoin would not be possible without Ethereum,” Bajwa wrote. “As a public good, Ethereum benefits from shared responsibility and collective appreciation, and the ApeCoin community should make a concerted effort to directly support this ecosystem."

In her AIP, Bajwa proposed that the ApeCoin DAO make a $300,000 USD donation to ETH Global and also use $700,000 USD to participate in 11 ETHGlobal hackathons this year.

“This AIP provides for $1,000,000 to fund crypto public goods through ETH Global and ApeCoin hackathons,” Bajwa wrote. The goal of this proposal is to 1) give back to the Ethereum community; 2) further development work around account abstraction; and 2) introduce developers to ApeCoin."

As the Ape community votes on her proposal, Bajwa took to Twitter and highlighted some exciting $Ape themed projects that came out of EThGlobal’s EthTokyo event.

In her post, Bajwa highlighted that 28 of the teams that competed at the event built on $Ape and four of them ( GAAS, Apeify, Vibe, and InviteApe) placed in the contest.

“Without @ETHGlobal these projects would never have gotten built,” Bajwa tweeted. “Its really valuable for us to continue having a presence at these hackathons going forward.”

The window to vote on AIP-230 is currently open and $Ape holders have until Wednesday night at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins.
