APECON IS COMING: Get Ready For ApeCoin's First-Ever Virtual Builders Conference & Startup Showdown Next Month!

Calling all bored builders and $Ape architects from around the swamp and across ApeChain! The first-ever ApeCon: Builders Conference & Startup Competition is happening next month, and you're invited to sign up, pitch your project, and possibly walk away with a grant!

April is looking extra $Ape-ish after longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member Captain Zwingli, aka Chris Jourdan, announced that he and his Coffee With Captain co-star Steve Bark, along with TheMiamiApe, have teamed up with ThankApe to host the first ever ApeCon.

"ApeChain Builders Conference & Startup Competition, sponsored by  @ThankApe,” Captain Zwingli  tweeted. “5K $APE to winning team & many other prizes Kickoff Keynote with  @CryptoGarga & several panels with leading builders Excited to be co-hosting w/  @TheMiamiApe& @SteveKBark Startup Competition application Existing teams & individuals are encouraged to apply. Individuals will be added to existing teams based on needs, or join a new team built based on individuals strengths & needs. Competition will be a Shark Tank-esc pitch competition. ApeCon will take place on April 17th on X in video and audio formats and will feature a keynote speech from Yuga Labs CEO Garga, panel discussions, and a startup competition, all open to anyone from around the swamp, ApeChain, and beyond!

“I'm really looking forward to this,” Captain told the Gazette. “Honored to be building and co-hosting with  @TheMiamiApe and @SteveKBark and grateful for @ThankApe helping bring it to life with a Swamp Roots grant. This is a passion project of mine, something that I actually first ideated in May of 2021 & submitted a similar idea for one of the first three BAYC grants (grants that ultimately help start the first ApeFest as well as Jenkins The Valet). While I've pursued others ventures between then and now, this is something I've wanted to do since weeks after minting my Ape and really grateful for the opportunity to bring this to the community with friends from the Club.”

 

The window to apply for the ApeCon Startup Competition is open from now until Thursday, April 3rd. Everyone who's building in the ApeChain ecosystem is encouraged to apply, get feedback on their ideas, and potentially connect with other builders working on similar projects or ideas!

“Part of the application process will be pairing individuals with teams, existing and new teams, based on their skill sets, strengths and needs,” Captain said. “A primary goal is to help further connect like-minded individuals and potentially match some new co-founders - even if they don't ultimately build the idea that they pitch, if we're able to make meaningful builder connections it will be a win!”
