A Pitch Deck Was Leaked At The Bored Ape Yacht Club That May Outline The Club's 2022 Plans

Leaks and rumors are circulating around the Bored Ape Yacht Club today as a pitch deck that outlines the BAYC’s 2022 is released online.

Earlier today, The Block’s reporter Ryan Weeks published a story titled “Bored Ape startup plans virtual land sales, APECoin token to kickstart metaverse gaming project.”

In the article, Weeks says that “Yuga Labs, the business behind the heavily hyped Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, is hoping to raise hundreds of millions of dollars by selling off virtual plots of land.”

According to Week’s article in the Block, Yuga Labs and the BAYC are working on a game focused metaverse.

“There will be a system — described as an “in-game app store” — that will allow players to create characters using NFTs they own or from scratch, outfit them (again with NFTs), and use them in games, according to the deck,” Weeks wrote. “Another crucial component of the proposed world is currency, which Yuga will provide in the form of a much-rumored token named APECoin. The token will be used to make purchases in Yuga’s planned app store, and the company said in its deck that it will also encourage trading and bartering.”

According to Week’s, Yuga Labs’ kickoff event for the company’s new metaverse will happen this month with its first land sale.

As Week’s article was released, BAYC member King BlackBored tweeted an unconfirmed BAYC timeline that appears to be the same document that Week’s based his article on.

Following today’s leak BAYC Co-Founder Gargamel took to the clubs Discord to shed some light on the leaked deck.

“That’s an old, outdated pitch deck and hilariously a version that neither Gordon nor I ever saw,” Gargamel wrote.“There are a lot of things in there that have already changed, and plenty more things that will change because fuck doing expected things.”

BAYC Co-Founder Gordon Goner echoed Gargamels comments on “expected things” in a Twitter post earlier today. “Fuck doing expected things, Goner tweeted. “Back to the lab.”

This is a developing story and the Bored Ape Gazette will continue to monitor it and get reaction from the community soon.
