Moonpay Purchased Another Bored Ape And Some Are Speculating That Elon Musk Could Join The BAYC

Moonpay purchased another bored ape this evening and many are wondering who the company will bring into the swamp next.

Moonpay, a crypto payment company that has onboarded several celebrities into the Bored Ape Yacht Club including Jimmy Fallon and Paris Hilton, purchased Bored Ape #4976 for 95 Eth or $245,000 USD.

Bored Ape #2976 is a six-trait blue fur ape with a biker’s vest and a cowboy hat. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #4976 is the 9105th most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools.

Moonpay’s purchase came just hours after a photo of Elon Musk with the CEO of Moonpay, Ivan Soto-Wright, circulated around the BAYC.

“Moonpay meeting with Elon Musk," BAYC member Willy Bullish tweeted along with a photo of Musk and Soto-Wright. “Is it finally happening?!?”

Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Soto-Wright and asked him if the photo of him and Musk was recently taken. Soto-Wright did not immediately reply.

While it is unclear when this photo was taken, bored apes are speculating that Bored Ape #4976 could be for Musk.

“@moonpay --> @elonmusk,” BAYC member Cryptostanima.eth tweeted after the purchase.

BAYC member CamptainMonkebiz.eth also commented that Bored Ape #7496 would be great for Musk because the primate is “Texas theme.”

While it is unknown who Bored Ape #4796 is for, it is clear that Moonpay has been accumulating apes. Moonpay purchased four Bored Apes in the past week, according to Opensea data.

After today’s purchase, Moonpay now holds 12 bored apes, one mutant ape and an M1& M2 serum.
